We’re recruiting a full time Head Chef. You will be working at George Wright Boutique Hotel in the heart of Rotherham. A keen eye for detail is essential for this role. As well as a friendly & approachable personality. The candidate must be able to successfully run the kitchen, this includes ordering, kitchen management, cooking at an elevated level, keeping paperwork and kitchen hygiene up to date etc. Shifts will include weekends and evenings. Our highly reputable hotel & restaurant operates all year-round offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea & dinner to resident and non-resident diners in our restaurant. The hotel also caters for functions & weddings for up to 50 people.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards

Staying up to date with culinary trends and kitchen processes

Dealing with suppliers and ensuring that they supply quality goods at affordable prices

Managing the inventory and ordering stock as needed

Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organising repairs when needed

Handling staff issues, such as sick leave and attendance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary

Developing new dishes and overhauling menus to attract more clientele

Ensuring that guests receive excellent service and enjoy their culinary experience

Head Chef Requirements and Qualifications

Proven experience as a chef and team leader.

Strong attention to detail

Creativity

Food hygiene certificates & kitchen management experience

Able to maintain a big picture view of the happenings in the kitchen

Ability to remain productive when being pulled in many different directions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £30,000.00 per year
